Pepper Plant, Serrano

Medium Hot, Scoville Scale:  5,000 to 15,000, Days to Maturity:  80 days The 2 inch long by 1/2 inch wide fruit can be used for drying, salsa, and cooking.  The fruit can be picked green when they are more mild or allow them to fully ripen red for a little more heat. Plants are grown in 2.5” pots. All vegetable and herb plants are grown using organic methods.  All products will be available, while supplies last, beginning opening day (4th Tuesday of April) at Rooted For Good Kirkland (formerly Walnut Grove Vocational Farm) located at 33600 Pearl St. Kirkland, IL 60146.  Greenhouse closes the last Saturday in June.  Photo courtesy of Ball Horticultural Co.
